In Black Rock City the center of attention is the Man. Blazing with neon at night for 6 nights, he becomes the focus of Burning Man's collective psyche. He reflects and absorbs the activities built up around him in Black Rock City, he is what the citizens love and despise about this place. People do everything in his shadow; celebrate weddings, contemplate life, shoot the shit, work, play and, of course, shoot lots of film and video. The only thing people don't do around him is smoke.

On Sunday he is packed with explosives and pyrotechnics,
and in the evening he is destroyed, much to the delight of the citizenry.
